In the first series of hoardings put up at various places in the city, the party has tried to shift the entire discourse on development for the city around ‘Brand Modi’. This step is unlike their strategy in the recently concluded Delhi assembly elections, in which the party focused on specific issues such as the availability of water, power cuts, price rise, development of unauthorised colonies and good governance.
‘Brand Modi’ has been portrayed as a symbol for good governance. The Delhi unit of the party is banking on it to cover all issues of development for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the city. The slogan used in its hoardings read, ‘Bahut hua bijli Pani Par Hahahkar, Abki bar Modi Sarkar (Enough uproar on water and power, this time choose the Modi government)’.
‘Projecting our prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and exposing back-door alliance of AAP and Congress is the main focus in this Lok Sabha election,’ said Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP chief. The party is planning to host another NaMo Tea Party, with the focus on ‘Modi for PM’ and ‘Ek Vote Kamal Par Vote’, at the municipality ward and assembly constituency level.
