‘The response of people is very encouraging. It is an unprecedented manifestation of universal support of people for BJP and our prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi,’ said Harsh Vardhan, Delhi’s leader of opposition. ‘We are getting support from the all sections of society and all age groups,’ he added from Preet Vihar where he was participating in the programme.
Reacting to the decision of Delhi government to waive off electricity bills of households he said, ‘The government’s decision to waive off its political supporters’ bills is highly objectionable.’ He further added that the decision is unfair to taxpaying, law abiding citizen.
‘So many people had participated in Bijli Andolan which BJP ran for four years. Why only a select group of people have been chosen for the waiver? If the CM wanted to give benefit to all those who fought against power companies then he should have included lakhs of other households also,’ said Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel. He launched the ‘Ek Note-Kamal Par Vote’ campaign for the party in Naveen Shahdara area of East Delhi. Goel met a large number of people and himself collected funds for party. The campaign is being carried out at more than 11,000 polling booths in the national capital.
