Day 5 of ‘Sebaashray’: Over 18K people avail healthcare services

Kolkata: As many as 18,775 people availed healthcare services in 41 ‘Sebaashray’ health camps in Diamond Harbour, with 8,895 diagnostic tests conducted, 8,862 receiving free medicines. Around 302 patients have been referred for specialised care.

Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee who is the architect of the initiative on social media said: “About 41 health camps have provided 58,582 individuals with free, high-quality medical care, 32,067 diagnostic tests conducted and 30,049 people received free medications. Around 1,332 patients referred to specialty hospitals for critical care. This is a promise to prioritise the health and well-being of every single constituent. Let’s keep up the momentum and ensure no one is left behind.”

Banerjee’s Health Camps ‘Sebaashray’ has ensured swift transfer and treatment of the Bagda girl who suffered an accident. Sadika Sultana, a 9-year-old girl who met with an accident, was promptly referred to Diamond Harbour Medical College for urgent treatment; thanks to the swift response of the doctors and volunteers on-site at Bagda Taj Club ‘Sebaashray’ camp.

“My name is Ali Hossein Molla and I am from Bagda. My daughter suffered injuries in an accident. We came to Bagda Taj Club SEBAASHRAY camp from where we were referred to Diamond Harbour Hospital where we received very good treatment. I also thank the volunteers at SEBAASHRAY camp for assisting us promptly,” said the father of the girl.

Like Sadika; Pritikona Ghosh and Narain Maity also got treated at SEBAASHRAY camps and expressed their gratitude for Banerjee. “I am Puja Mondal and I come from Mandir Bazaar. Abhishek Sir has thought a lot for us,” said Mondal. “My name is Mamata Patra. I came from Diamond Harbour ward 2. I am very happy at the services given by Abhishek Banerjee,” added Mamata.
