Khetan has also boldly declared himself as a ‘politician’ in his affidavit, under the category of occupation, without providing any reference to his journalistic past.
‘Our agenda is to change the face of Parliament when our elected MPs go there. The 49 days of AAP government changed the face of Delhi and we have started a new form of governance in Delhi. We will replicate this in Lok Sabha,’ said Khetan after filing the nominations.
In his affidavit filed Khetan has declared a pending home loan amount of over Rs 25 lakh for his flat in an apartment located at sector 128 of Noida and a car loan for a recently purchased SUV amounting to Rs 5.03 lakhs. In his affidavit he has stated his profession as ‘politician’ and his educational qualification as Masters in labour laws and personnel management from Lucknow University.
The Khetan couple has shown only Rs 50,000 in cash and a total movable property of over Rs 92 lakhs. He has a house shared in his village at Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh and resides in Mayur Vihar area of East Delhi. Khetan is married to Christina Lydia Fernandes and is blessed with three children Daniele Ruchi, Tiya and Zoe.
Khetan, accompanied by a handful of party workers and few MLAs, submitted his nomination papers before the returning officer at Jamnagar House in New Delhi. Khetan faces a three-pronged contest in the constituency, as BJP has fielded Meenakshi Lekhi, while the Congress fielded Ajay Maken.
Targeting BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Khetan said, ‘All claims by Modi are false. A conspiracy has been going on for the last one and half years and it is being played out by Modi, his campaign managers and a section of media. We have been exposing those claims and will continue to do so’.
Khetan is the founder of gulail.com which had done a sting operation on Gujarat Police, alleging that the state machinery tailed a woman at the behest of Narendra Modi.
