HS Bengali question paper circulated on WhatsApp, Council orders probe

Kolkata: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has, however, ordered a probe into the incident. The council has received a complaint that a photo of Bengali question paper was circulated by some people in Malda.
WBCHSE President Mahua Das said the incident had hardly any impact on the overall examination and it passed peacefully.
According to Das, there are four sets of question papers. If a photo of one set of question paper was circulated, that too hours after the exam began, it could hardly have any effect on the examination.
"A probe has been initiated in this regard. We are investigating if there was any security lapse as there was a complaint regarding the question paper being circulated. The council is trying its best to check any such incident. Some people are trying to disrupt the examination procedure with malafide intension. We are trying to spot the location where the incident occurred," Das said.
It was alleged that some multiple choice questions in the Bengali paper were out on social media after the exam started. Today (Tuesday) was the first day of examination. Some, however, have raised questions on how the incident took place where in the WBCHSE has taken adequate security measures to check any untoward incidents.
It was also learnt that the council received information at around 12 noon saying that a photo of the Bengali question paper was circulated.
The council suspects that a student might have captured the photo of the question paper after one hour
when he/she was allowed to go to the toilet. What exactly happened is still a matter of investigation.
The exam was conducted at around 2085 venues among which around 150 venues had been demarcated as sensitive. There were two special observers at each sensitive booth whose job was to carry out surveillance over the examination process, maintain the security of the question papers apart from assisting the venue supervisors.
Around 20 students along with their guardians arrived at Adyanath Boys School Patipukur for appearing at the exams.
At the last moment, they were informed that it was not their Centre of examination and nobody was there to communicate them regarding their actual examination centre and all the students along with guardians were in utter dilemma.
RT officers gathered information that those 20 students had their exam Centre at Krishnapur Adarsha boys school at Dum Dum Park. All those students were transported immediately through the RT vehicles to the original Centre in due time and they appeared for the exam safely, police said.
