Famous theme-based Pujas of city to get displayed on Jagadhatri Puja at Chandannagore
Kolkata: Those who could not make it to the theme-based Puja pandals in the city will get a second chance to witness some during Jagadhatri Puja.
A number of theme-based pandals in the city that have witnessed a staggering footfall during the Puja days is all slated to live a second life on Jagadhatri Puja at Chandannagore, Hooghly. All the four innovative themes churned out by artist Gouranga Kuila for Tridhara Akalbodhan, Mudiali Club, New Alipore Buroshibtala and Barisha Sarbojonin have bagged takers from four Jagadharti Puja committees at Chandannagore. "It is indeed a proud moment that the art décor at the pandals that have received so much appreciation will continue to attract Puja revellers during Jagadhatri puja as well. The sea of humanity that descended at the pandals right from the day of Chaturthi is the reward for the hard work that has been put in," Kuila said. It may be mentioned that Tridhara Akalbodhan near Deshapriya Park had tried to revive the lost artisanal traditions of Bengal through theme — 'Prakriti Ratan e Shajabo Jotone' with an aim to acquaint generation Y with the of art of clay and jute works. The Mudiali Club has created a unique blend of dokra with Banglar Patachitra through its theme 'Mayer Aanchal'. Tridhara pandal will be on display at Niyogibagan Puja, while Mudiali will be for Char Mandir Tala at Chandannagore. The Barisha Sarbojonin in Behala that drew attention by portraying the life of the Jarowa tribes of Andaman will live a second life at Chandnangaore's Palpara. Buroshibtala which, through its theme Bangashur Badh, heralded a new morning free from communal tension at a time when there is fear of communal riots looming large in the country will again come alive at a pandal in Mankundu, Hooghly. Among the major crowd pullers in South, Kashi Bose Lane that based its theme on 'Balcony' will be on display at a Kali Puja in Kamarhati followed by Jagadhatri Puja at Chandannagore.
Theme maker Sanatan Dinda said: "The greatest reward for an artist is to have appreciation from more and more people. It is an inspiration for an artist to work towards excellence." A number of other Puja committees like Dum Dum Park Tarun Dal, Hindustan Park in Gariahat, Chakraberia Sarboninin in Bhowanipore are also in talks with Jagadhatri puja committees at Chandanngore.
