He has been persistently working in his area of interest – developing a technique to treat a speech disorder which at the moment has no effective cure. As a reward for his hard work and commitment, he has been selected to represent not just India, but the whole Asian continent in the 'Present Around the World' contest.
Shubham Saraff, a third year student of BTech in Computer Science Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology University, made a technical presentation on 'Mirror Neurons as part of his topic on 'Neurons that shaped us.' He delved about how his treatment process uses neurons present in the pre-frontal cortex.

He is also in the initial stages of developing a mobile application as a part of the treatment process. "As a third year student of VIT University, he is one of the younger participants in the competition. It is indeed a moment of pride. We are proud to have Shubham as a worthy representative," said IET India in a statement.
Shubham will now compete in the global finals to be held in London in November. It has a cash prize of £1,000 (around Rs. 1 lakh). "I am motivated to represent SCOPE@VIT and our country at such a prestigious platform and hope to clinch the world title," says Shubham.
Shubham has received several awards for not just academics but also in various cultural events including
