NEW DELHI: The Delhi Traffic police has informed that traffic movement will remain closed on Lajpat Nagar flyover up to May 30, 2018, in the carriageway from Moolchand towards Ashram Chowk due to ongoing repairing work on the flyover. The Traffic police had advised general public to use Barapullah flyover for going towards Sarai Kale Khan and DND flyway. For going towards Faridabad, it has been advised to use the Outer Ring Road. The Traffic police has advised common motorists to avoid the stretch and take alternative routes.
Traffic snarls are expected at the stretch as commuters might take time to get the information of the repair work and the closure of the flyover. Though Traffic police persons would be present on the spot trying to regulate the traffic but it has been advised to avoid the stretch and plan out the journey through an alternative route. The busy stretch which attracts thousands of commuters has been officially closed till May 30 is expected to cause severe traffic snarls in the area. Earlier in January too, the Lajpat Nagar flyover was closed due to the huge gap between the two girders. The repair work then too led to the closure of the flyover.
