Former Norway PM lauds mohalla clinics at bangkok conference

Lauding the ambitious Mohalla Clinics of the Delhi government, former Norway Prime Minister Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland said that the concept is an excellent strategy to build an inclusive health system in India. Appreciation from Dr Brundtlandcame at the ongoing Prince Mahidol Award Conference at Bangkok. The conference is being jointly organised by the World Health Organization, the World Bank, and the Rockefeller Foundation, in association with the government of Thailand.
Nobel laureate and noted economist Dr Amartya Sen is also taking part in the conference. Representing Delhi government, Health Minister Satyendar Jain has been engaged with Secretary General of National Health security office, Thailand on matter concerning urban health. The conference titled - Prince Mahidol Award Conference is subjected on Political Strategies to tackle Social Exclusion and Improve Health. The conference panel is being constituted on the premise that tackling social exclusion and reducing inequalities in society is an inherently political process which often meets with resistance from privileged groups benefiting from the status quo.
