Delhi residents to get preference at GTB Hospital from Sept 15

NEW DELHI: Before Lok Sabha Polls, the AAP government in Delhi is focusing on two parliamentarian constituencies such as North-East and East Delhi, as the proposal to give preference to the residents of Delhi at the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital was approved in a meeting held at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and was attended by Health Minister Satyendar Jain and senior officials of the health department.

"The pilot project comes in effect from September 15. Residents of Delhi would get preference at the registration counters, IPD, tests and medicine counter," said Delhi govt spokesperson.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced reservation of 80 percent beds for Delhi patients . In the IPD, 80 percent beds will be for the residents of Delhi, while 20 percent would be for the patients from outside Delhi. Out of the 17 registration counters, 13 would be for the residents of Delhi, while 4 would be meant for people from outside Delhi. The identification of the residents of Delhi would be done on the basis of voter ID card; they will be required to present a valid voter card for identification. Minors would have to present the voter ID of their parents. The registration cards would be colour coded to differentiate between the residents of Delhi and patients from outside Delhi.
