Body of 25-year-old man found floating in pond
New Delhi: The body of a 25-year-old man was found floating in the Golf Course pond in southwest Delhi on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Balwant Ram, a resident of Uttarakhand. Deputy Commissioner of Police Devender Arya said Balwant Ram, who hailed from Uttarakhand's Chamoli, used to work in a canteen at the Golf Course near Dhaula Kuan in south Delhi.
Police said that he left the canteen around 10.30 pm on Monday but did not reach home at Sagarpur. On Tuesday morning, a sweeper noticed his body floating in the pond and alerted the police.
"There weren't any apparent injuries on the body and it has been sent for post-mortem.
The reason behind the death would be clear only after the post-mortem," Devender Arya, DCP South West
said.
The deceased was identified as Balwant Ram, a native of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. Cops are now questioning his fellow workers and family members to know if they had any clue what could have happened. His call records are also being analysed.
However, the legal action has been initiated by the police but how did 25-year-old Balwant die would only be ascertained after the postmortem report comes in.
His family has been informed about the incident.
