PowerGrid promotes EV charging infra

New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), a government of India Enterprise, involves in developing EV Charging infrastructures across India to facilitate E-mobility in Indian roads covering 2-Wheelers, Rickshaws/Autos, Taxis, Cars, Buses etc.POWERGRID has signed an agreement with L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) ltd in developing EV Charging infrastructure at its Metro Stations.
This will help the metro commuters in availing Electric Vehicles as first and last mile connectivity.
The company is closely working with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for establishment of bulk charging and battery swapping model for three wheelers at Gurugram. POWERGRID is also in advance talks with Chennai Metro Rail Corporation to set-up EV charging facilities.
To cater to the needs of present available vehicle types, POWERGRID will deploy Bharat Charger DC-001.
